
Intermediate Swahili Level
By the end of this course students will be able to comprehend written and spoken Swahili.
Upon completion of this course, all students will know how to read and discuss short articles from newspapers and books, have basic functional vocabulary for use at various places (work, business, tour etc.) and will have acquired some idiomatic expressions.
The course incorporate fundamental elements of Swahili language and East African culture, the focus is on acquiring communication skills in Swahili such as speaking, writing, listening, and reading.
Features of the course
Aspects of grammar are integrated into the content which also incorporates cultural and social aspects (music, media, etc. of the East African society. The courses are open to any student who wants to study Swahili language and culture. There will be performances of cultural insights of the people in East Africa.
